Great pizza! We also had the California cheesesteak - very good! I ordered ahead but still had to wait an extra 10 minutes from the 20 minutes I was told.

I heard about this place in a post from my friend Cheryl Pizzichillo. She mentioned the Newark style Italian Hot Dog. I'm always looking for a good one down here in Ocean County. Chomp was good but they're gone. Big Dogs Cafe is now in that spot but I won't pay $15 plus for a sandwich using tiny Sabretts. La Madre Maria serves one but uses even smaller Sabretts. Oakwood Pizza is about a 25-30 minute drive from me but I called ahead to make sure they would be serving an Italian Hot Dog and to confirm that it would be on pizza bread. Cheryl said in her post that it comes on pizza bread but I've found that a lot of pizzerias that serve an IHD alternate between pizza bread and sub rolls because unlike a place specializing in this sandwich, a pizzeria can't always determine demand. Many either run out when demand is high, forcing them to use the bread they make subs with, or have to throw out pizza bread when it gets old due to low demand. I learned that they had fresh pizza bread and used Best's hot dogs which I prefer to Sabrett. It makes a big difference to me. The better Italian Hot Dog joints like Jimmy Buffs, Tommy's, Big Blues, and Dickie Dees use Best's. So I left with high hopes. Oakwood's Point Pizza makes a great Italian Hot Dog. It is better than any I've had down here and in the same class as Buffs,Tommy's, and Big Blues. It's that good. The pizza bread is fresh and made in house. The dogs are Best's and fried perfectly. Although you can't see them, the peppers are soft like I prefer. And no one gives you more. There were a ton in there. The potatoes were in chunks and also plentiful. Delicious and hot. And a great value today considering inflation. Under $10 while everyone else is over, averaging between $11 and $15. A top notch Italian Hot Dog offering quality, quantity, and value. This will be my place for them. I hear the pizza and subs are very good also. Very highly recommended.

Been going to this local spot for years pizza is always on point and the sandwich another reviewer mentioned has been in the menu long before the current owners! (And it’s an amazing sandwich…) As for the gun stickers all over mentioned by Mark Lokerson that is completely false, there is one sticker letting folks know if there are carrying it’s allowed in the store, as a gay male who is pro firearms he is simply following the law by posting a small notice. Love this place can’t wait to go back! Reviewers need to post about quality of food and service, not political opinions (which are mostly wrong)

Did a catering order: Laura was super easy to work with and offered continued flexibility to meet our needs. Food was great, all guests said they enjoyed it and most came back for second helpings. Definitely a family friendly and community centric business.

I walked in and the place was a great temperature that was inviting to eat. Not too cold but also not so hot on a 96° day in New Jersey. The selection of pizza was clearly displayed on the counter and everywhere I looked the floor, the tables, everything was spotless. I ordered two buffalo slices with blue cheese and a pepperoni slice. All three slices folded correctly without bending or drooping in the middle and the pepperoni and cheese was not greasy at all. I enjoyed all three slices thoroughly! The blue cheese was generous as I enjoy and not overpowering in taste. It accented hot sauce and chicken beautifully. Nothing was overcooked, the crust wasn't too dark or burnt, just simply perfection! I am putting a pin on this location so I remember to stop here every time I come down to the shore! Thank you so much for your hospitality and kindness during my visit!

I stopped in today for the first time. My friend who is a regular here brought me here for lunch. The food was outstanding. White Pizza slice and chicken parm sandwich were both delicious. Perfect crust on the pizza and excellent chicken and bread for the sandwich. I even spoke with the owner for a little bit with my friend (Mike). I was definitely impressed with the place and I will be back.
